Volume 2, Issue 1, January, 2008

From the Editors

Dear Reader,

This second issue of the International School of Bangkok Journal of Physics has been a challenge. The editors have spent much time considering the best model to use in screening, selecting, and editing the papers which are submitted. A culture of publishing is still being developed among the students at ISB, and some incentives are still needed to convince our busy students to commit to the effort needed to write a paper for the Journal.

Two papers have been selected for publishing in this issue. The papers present research conducted by the authors and were edited by the authors in consultation with the Editors.

If you have any comments on the ISB Journal of Physics or the papers published in this issue, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Volume 2, Issue 2, June, 2008

From the Editors

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the June, 2008 issue of the International School Bangkok Journal of Physics.  This is our third issue and we are proud to say that we are beginning to build a culture of publishing among our physics students.  Our IB HL 1 Physics students conducted their first piece of independent research in May of this year, investigating a wide range of topics including crater formation in water, drag on projectiles and boats, turbulators, Seiche waves, indices of refraction, LED intensity and pendulums.

After finishing their research, the students showed considerable interest in submitting papers to the Journal of Physics. After considering the quality and originality of the research, the Editors have selected three papers for publishing in this issue.  The papers present research conducted by the authors and were written and edited by the authors in consultation with the Editors.

If you have any comments on the ISB Journal of Physics or the papers published in this issue, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Eales
